Vet & Veldt was born from a love for traditional soapmaking, honest ingredients, and a slower way of living — one that respects the land, the animal, and the skin.

We’ve been making soap since 2020, crafting small batches by hand using time-honoured methods and simple, purposeful ingredients. Every bar is made locally in South Africa, with care taken at every step — from rendering and blending to curing and cutting.

At the heart of Vet & Veldt is tallow — a deeply nourishing, traditional fat that has been used for generations to cleanse and protect the skin. We believe in using the whole animal respectfully, and in choosing ingredients that are both effective and naturally abundant. Our soaps are gentle, long-lasting, and suited to even sensitive skin.

We keep our formulas intentionally simple. No unnecessary additives, no harsh detergents, and no overpowering fragrances. Instead, you’ll find thoughtfully chosen essential oils, raw honey, botanicals, and natural colourants — ingredients that work with your skin, not against it.

Our soaps are slow-made and slow-cured, allowing each bar to develop its creamy lather and conditioning qualities naturally. Because of this, no two batches are ever exactly the same — and that’s how we like it. Variations in colour, texture, and scent are part of the story, not flaws.
